"I Am An Actor"

I know what it means to want to be better than I was yesterday. I know what it means to want to be the best I can be today. I accept that it's not enough to just want to be better than yesterday or the best I can be today. I can't sit around and talk about how much I want it. I have to stop "thinking about it" and "wondering about it" and "hoping for it" and actually go out and do it.

I have to do whatever it takes to be my best. And then, whether I win or lose or collapse in the process, I'll know exactly where I stand if I am not satisfied. I must do it again and again and again and never quit. No matter what it takes. No matter how much it may cost me. I may lose my friends and maybe even the ones I love. But if I care about being the actor I want to be, then not doing it will be more painful than losing a couple of friends or sleeping alone.

To be the actor that I want to be takes persistance and determination. There is no time to say, "I made it. "There is no end to this trip, only brief moments where maybe, I can slow down and enjoy the view for a short time. But I must keep going. That's the discipline it takes. Passion is not arrogance. I have to believe in myself and in what I do and in what I am capable of doing and do it. Don't think...do !

Nobody is going to care what kind of sacrifices it takes. They just want to be entertained. They want to laugh and cry and feel things through me and talk about it later. They will scrutinize my work while not having the first clue of the level of commitment it takes. And if I try to tell them what it takes, they won't care...it's not important to them and for that matter, it's not important to me. What is important to me is that, I am an actor.
